Polymer microstructured fibers with limited modal dispersion and bending losses for application in ftth networks
Abstract
This work summarizes the recent results of our research on development of microstructured POF (mPOF) with relatively large core, limited modal dispersion and improved resistance to bending losses, discussed in the context of its possible application in FTTH systems. Numerical data obtained so far have confirmed the possibility of effective controlling the propagation and macro-bending losses, as well as manipulation on the number of modes. First fiber manufactured according to our design have delivered good validation material for further work.
