Pulsed Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW-P) for Newer Challenges in Welding of Aluminium Alloys
Abstract
Driven by the need for the energy conservation and reduce the emission of greenhouse gases by its products, both light metal industry and joining methods (especially welding) is experiencing some excitingdevelopments. One of the most widely used light metal is aluminum. With advancement of technology, aluminum alloys produced by powder metallurgy and combination of different aluminum alloys are findingwider applications owing to better performance than conventional aluminum alloy. This paper explores howGMAW-P can help in meeting newer challenges of welding of aluminum.
