Spectroscopy on silicate glasses from two magmatic series: implications for planetary studies.
Abstract
Spectroscopy is a powerful tool for remote sensing and it is of primary importance for the planetary investigation. Through experimental petrology, this work uses volcanic terrestrial examples to present a spectral database of glassy material of different chemical composition, which will be useful to build up models for the interpretation of remote sensed data. In particular, spectral features may tell us the degree of evolution of volcanic rocks....
