Abstract
The aim of the paper is to discuss selected design standards for calculation of the shear capacity of concrete members reinforced with nonmetallic reinforcement without transverse reinforcement. Based on the test data base of concrete beams reinforced with glass and carbon reinforcement the design shear strength was calculated according to the Japanese (JSCE), Italian (CNR), American (ACI), British (BS), European (CEN) and Canadian (CSA and ISIS) standards and compared with the experimental shear strength.
