Synthesis and functional properties of piezoelectric lead free K0.5Na0.5NbO3 ceramics and single crystals.
Abstract
Authors : Bah Micka, Giovannelli Fabien, Fredéric Schoenstein, Franck Levassort, Feuillard Guy, Le Clezio Emmanuel, Monot-Laffez IsabelleAbstract :Conventional solid state mixed oxide route using manual grinding and ball milling is investigated for the preparation of K0.5Na0.5NbO3 phase. The ceramics are sintered at 1090 – 1120°C for 10 – 48h in classical furnace or by spark plasma sintering (SPS) at 950°C for 15min. Crystal growth from sintered rod is put to test in image furnace. Piezoelectric performances are measured and related to the microstructure. High kt (0.33 – 0.45) and d33 (98 – 143 pC/N) were obtained for densities of 84 – 97 %.Editor :EPJ Web of conferences, published by EDP Sciences., 21-24.
