Reciclagem de escórias de aciaria e resíduos de construção e demolição em camadas de drenagem de obras geotécnicas e infraestruturas de transporte
Abstract
Efficient use of resources is one of the aims of the Europe 2020 strategy, the waste recycling being a pillar for its implementation. Drainage layers that exist in geotechnical works and transport infrastructures may consume large volumes of granular materials, so they can represent an important source of consumption for waste that presents adequate engineering properties and does not release pollutant substances in concentrations that put at risk public health and the environment. This paper presents the study of the hydraulic behaviour of two recycled aggregates, one processed from electric arc furnace steel slag and the other from construction and demolition waste, and of two natural aggregates, basalt and limestone, used as reference materials. The obtained results show the technical feasibility of the application of aggregates in drainage layers.
