Probabilistic Approach of Fire Resistance
Abstract
Reliability of steel beams exposed to a fully developed fire was studied assuming that fire compartment conditions, materialproperties and loads are random variables. A numerical procedure using the Monte Carlo simulation technique and Finite Element Analysis is developed to obtain the time-dependent probability of failure and overall reliability of a structure. Applications and numerical examples are presented, and the applicability of the procedure is discussed.
