Abstract
This article opens a series of short publications dealing with the different aspects of the applications of microreactor technol. such as high-through-put catalyst testing, hydrogen prodn. for fuel cells, process intensification in manufg. of chems., and reactions with hazardous chems. Current work at Eindhoven University of Technol. is reviewed. The first article focuses on the development of efficient deposition methods for BEA and ZSM-5 zeolitic coatings on metallic microstructured plates. Such coatings can be made catalytically active by ion-exchange from a soln. A high-through-put microreactor was developed in which the activity and selectivity of several catalytic coatings can be compared in parallel at well-defined conditions to optimize the catalyst prepn. procedure
