Physicochemical and microbial fouling characterization of novel, extremely hydrophobic, nanocomposite diamond like carbon polymer hybrid coatings
Abstract
Complete hybridization of up to 90% of polymers on nano-scale with amorphous DLC coating is possible during the FPAD process without destabilization. The coatings are both hydrophobic and wear resistant. Preliminary adhesion studies indicate potential for these coatings for antifouling applications, although further studies both under static and dynamic flow conditions are needed and are being performed to justify the claim.
