PENGARUH FRAKSI VOLUME TERHADAP KEKUATAN GESER KOMPOSIT SERAT BUAH KELAPA SAWIT
Abstract
Influence Of Volume Fraction On Shearing Strength Of Composite Of Palm Fruit Fiber. This study aims to determine the shear strength and the effect of water absorption of oil palm fruit fiber composites with volume fraction variations while fiber volume fractions were 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%. The method used in this research is experimentally using a composite material made from palm fruit fiber with a polyester matrix. Compost testing includes shear testing referring to ASTM D5379. The results of the study of shear strength testing on the composite of oil palm fiber found that the highest shear value was found in the 20% fiber volume fraction, which was 20.04 MPa, the lowest at 40% fiber volume fraction, which was 16.45 MPa.Keywords: Composite, palm fruit fiber, shear strength, water absorption polyester
