Abstract
Fatigue testing under multiaxial non-proportional loading is complex and laborious. For this reason, properties describing the non-proportional material behavior are rarely available. This is also true for the cast iron material EN-GJS-500-14. This contribution presents testing methods and the test results for strain-controlled tests on unnotched material specimens and for stress-controlled tests on notched specimens. In addition, the non-proportional hardening (out-of-phase hardening) of the cast iron material and the comparison to the hardening capacity of other materials and material groups are considered.
