The Materials Map is an open tool for improving networking and interdisciplinary exchange within materials research. It enables cross-database search for cooperation and network partners and discovering of the research landscape.

The dashboard provides detailed information about the selected scientist, e.g. publications. The dashboard can be filtered and shows the relationship to co-authors in different diagrams. In addition, a link is provided to find contact information.

Materials Map under construction

The Materials Map is still under development. In its current state, it is only based on one single data source and, thus, incomplete and contains duplicates. We are working on incorporating new open data sources like ORCID to improve the quality and the timeliness of our data. We will update Materials Map as soon as possible and kindly ask for your patience.

Constitutive description of yield properties for heterogeneous polymers

Abstract

In this contribution, an approach is proposed to determine the homogenized properties for heterogeneous RVEs at the micro-scale so that the obtained homogenized properties can be used at the macro-scale and consequently, time consuming coupled multi-scale analysis could be avoided. A developed constitutive model, based on single model compressible Leonov model, to account for elasto-viscoplastic behavior of polymers is used. An effort is given to determine the yield properties for heterogeneous polymeric based material. A mathematical relation is proposed which relates the yield stress of the material and different yield properties (Eyring properties for the model used in this study). Then, coupled multi-scale analyses are performed using an arbitrary RVE and the yield stresses are taken form the deformation behavior curves. According to the yield stresses of coupled analyses, the homogenized properties that could be used for the specific RVE are determined. © 2014, Advanced Engineering Solutions (AES.COM) Ottawa, Canada.
