Oxide phases as activators of high calorific mixture
Abstract
<p>Physicochemical properties of iron powder preparations and their reactivity with potassium chlorate(VII) have been studied. It has been established that the presence of iron mixed oxide on the iron powder surface has a catalytic effect on the thermal decomposition of KClO4. The amount of the surface iron oxides and grain distribution can be assumed as the main criterions of the powder applicability as a reducer in high calorific value mixtures.</p>
