Phasenumwandlungen zur systematischen Gefügeeinstellung mehrphasiger Ta-Mo-Ti-Cr-Al-Legierungen
Abstract
Legierungen mit komplexer Zusammensetzung (CCA, engl. Compositionally Complex Alloys) sind durch nahe äquimolare oder äquimolare Zusammensetzung mit typischerweise vier bis sechs Elementen definiert. Im Gegensatz zu konventionellen Legierungen mit einem Basiselement erlauben die zusätzlichen Freiheitsgrade durch den erweiterten Zusammensetzungsbereich die Synthese von Legierungen mit einem außergewöhnlichen Eigenschaftsportfolio. Im Bereich der Konstruktionswerkstoffe für Hochtemperaturanwendungen weisen Zusammensetzungen von refraktärmetallbasierten CCA (RCCA) bereits in einigen Bereichen bessere Eigenschaften als Superlegierungen auf. So zeigt zum Beispiel die äquimolare TaMoTiCrAl-Legierung vielversprechende Oxidationseigenschaften bis 1500 °C, gleichzeitig jedoch unzureichende mechanische Eigenschaften bei tiefen Temperaturen. In zahlreichen untersuchten CCA konnte die beobachtete geringe plastische Verformbarkeit auf eine Kombination aus unerwünschten (intermetallischen) Phasen mit geordneten Kristallstrukturen der Matrix zurückgeführt werden.Das Ziel der vorliegenden Arbeit besteht darin, Legierungen aus dem System Ta-Mo-Ti-Cr-Al hinsichtlich ihres Gefüges, der Phasenumwandlungen sowie der mechanischen Eigenschaften zu charakterisieren. Durch Manipulation der Zusammensetzung sollen hierbei die Festkörperphasenumwandlungen hinsichtlich der Umwandlungstemperaturen und -pfade verändert werden, um ein optimiertes Gefüge für Hochtemperaturanwendungen einzustellen. Eine thermodynamische Datenbank wurde hierbei genutzt, um die zu erwarteten Phasenverteilungen bei unterschiedlichen Legierungszusammensetzungen und Temperaturen vorherzusagen.Untersuchungen im System (100-x)(MoTiCr)-xAl (wobei x die Elementkonzentration in At.% ist) validierten die Annahme, dass sich der Ordnungsgrad der kubisch-raumzentrierten Kristallstruktur gezielt durch die Al-Konzentration in diesem System manipulieren lässt. Durch thermische Analysen konnte bei Legierungen mit x_Al > 10 At.% die Phasenumwandlung beim Abkühlen eines einphasigen A2- zu einem B2-Mischkristall mittels einer athermischen Festkörperphasenumwandlung zweiter Ordnung nachgewiesen werden. Der Einfluss der Kristallstruktur auf die mechanischen Eigenschaften wurde in dieser Arbeit durch quasistatische Druckversuche analysiert, in denen ein Zusammenhang zwischen Ordnung und plastischer Verformbarkeit verifiziert werden konnte.Neben den einphasigen Legierungen wurden ebenfalls mehrphasige Legierungen mit einer Kombination aus A2- und B2-Kristallstruktur synthetisiert. So war es möglich durch gezielte Optimierungen der Cr-, Ti- und Al Konzentrationen unterschiedliche, mehrphasige Gefüge einzustellen. Hierbei zeigte sich, dass die Kristallstruktur der Matrix sowie der Ausscheidungen wesentlich durch die Al Konzentration bestimmt ist. Durch die Verringerung der Cr-Konzentration bleibt die Ausbildung der unerwünschten Laves-Phase an den Korngrenzen aus. Untersuchungen auf verschiedenen Längenskalen zeigten, dass die Phasen-umwandlung zur Ausscheidungsbildung der diffusionsgesteuerten, diskontinuierlichen Phasenumwandlung mit scharfen, bewegenden Grenzflächen mit den Stadien Keimbildung und Keimwachstum zuzuordnen ist.
