Examinations on Al-Mg-Sc-Alloys after Additive Manufacturing
Abstract
Abstract
Additive Manufacturing of metallic components has gained a lot of attention within the last five years in material science. By means of the development and qualification process of a new alloy, specially designed for the aerospace branch, a comprehensive analysis of the mechanical properties is indispensable. This article serves to investigate the microstructure, as well as mechanical and fracture behavior of tensile samples of different AlMgSc alloys (commercially distributed as Scalmalloy®), which were directly additively manufactured, in particular by Selective Laser Melting.
