HoZn5Al3: rare-earth magnetism in a new structure type
Abstract
Abstract
Antiferromagnetic order at TN = 21 K was discovered in the intermetallic compound HoZn5Al3, which crystallizes in its own structure type. A metamagnetic transition can be induced by magnetic fields of 4 T. Enormous values of specific heat below 1 K are attributed to the Ho nuclear specific heat.
