Synthesis and Electrochemical Properties of MnO 2 and Co-Decorated Graphene as Novel Nanocomposite for Electrochemical Super Capacitors Application
Abstract
In this study, MnO2-Co/graphene nanocomposite was synthesized via a simple heat reflux strategy and employed as a simple capacitor electrode material. The composite was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), coupled with rapid EDAX (energy dispersive analysis of X-ray). Moreover physiochemical properties were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in 1 M KOH aqueous solution. Overall, the present study opens new avenue for cheap and stable graphene and metal oxides based nano materials as non-precious catalyst for super capacitors application. To the best of our knowledge this is the first report on MnO2-Co/graphene nanocomposite as an electrical double layer capacitor material.
