Abstract
<jats:p>[Cu(O<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>C–CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>–NH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>]Pb<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>Br<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> is a new semiconductor with a novel 2D layered crystal structure featuring intercalated Cu(<jats:sc>ii</jats:sc>) in between the inorganic layers. [Cu(O<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>C–CH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>–NH<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>)<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>]Pb<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>Br<jats:sub>4</jats:sub> is a candidate for semiconductor X-ray detector applications.</jats:p>
