Abstract
<jats:p>Oxygen-defective metal oxides, <jats:italic>e.g.</jats:italic>, acceptor-doped CeO<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>, demonstrate exceptionally large electrostrictive responses compared to state-of-the-art electromechanically active ceramic materials.</jats:p>
