NdFeB-αFe nanocomposites containing small additions of Pb
Abstract
<p>The effect of lead additions on the basic magnetic properties of Nd10Fe84-xPbxB6 (x=0-3) magnets, processed by mechanical alloying, are presented. Small additions of Pb increase the coercivity after annealing of the material at 650°C. The maximum coercivity only slightly exceeds the value for the Pb-free magnets. The remanence versus Pb content, for annealing at 650°C, initially decreases, attains a maximum for 1.5at% Pb and decreases again for higher lead concentrations. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
