Synthesis, crystal structures, spectral, magnetic and thermal properties of 1-D polymeric dicyanamido-metal(II) complexes
Abstract
<p>Three metal(II) dicyanamide (dca) complexes have been synthesized in presence of 2,6-lutidine-N-oxide (2,6-lut-NO): catena-{[M(μ1,5-dca)2(H2O)2](2,6-lut-NO)} (M = Mn(II) (1), Co(II) (2), Ni(II) (3)), and characterized by IR, UV–Vis spectroscopy, single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction. The isostructural polymeric 1-D complexes feature double µ1,5-bridging dicyanamide ligands and terminal aqua ligands in trans-conformation around the distorted M(II) octahedra, whereas the 2,6-lutNO molecules are not ligated to the metal centers. The magnetic and thermal properties of the title complexes are reported.</p>
