New alternative route for the preparation of phosphate glasses with persistent luminescence properties
Abstract
In this paper, we investigate a new alternative route for thepreparation of phosphate glasses with persistent luminescenceproperties. Phosphate glasses within the P2O5Na2OCaO and P2O5Na2OSrO systems were prepared by a standard melting process in air by adding Sr4Al14O25:Eu2+,Dy3+ microparticles in the glass batch before melting. We found that all theinvestigated glasses show persistent luminescence. It is clearly shownthat conventional melting in air of Sr4Al14O25:Eu2+,Dy3+ microparticles in phosphate glass batch can be a new technique toprepare phosphate glasses with persistent luminescence properties.
