One-bit System Identification
Abstract
This paper shows how to apply frequency-domain system identification of the parameters of a linear system based on both one-bit stimulation and data acquisition. The proposed technique is based on the usage of maximum-length binary sequences as signal sources. One-bit acquisition, based on a simple comparator is assisted by a sinewave dither signal. Results are compared to those obtained by directly processing the one-bit sequence in absence of dither. Theoretical, simulation and experimental results illustrate the usage of the method and confirm the validity of the presented procedure.
