Influence of Plasma Nitriding on Microstructure of Nickel Superalloy Haynes 282
Abstract
The objectives of this work were produce CrN layers on Haynes 282 nickel superalloy in as cast state: investigation of layers chemical composition and the influence of plasma nitriding on the substrate microstructure. Layers containing chromium nitride were manufactured by PACVD (Plasma Assisted Chemical Vapor Deposition) method at a temperature 570C in a nitrogen - hydrogen atmosphere for 8h. The plasma nitriding process no significant effect on substrate microstructure.
