Abundances of Trace Elements in PG 1159 Stars
Abstract
We present results of a new spectral analysis of four hydrogen deficient post-AGB stars of the spectral type PG1159. We analysed high-resolution FUV spectra obtained with FUSE (Far Ultraviolet Spectroscopic Explorer) by means of NLTE model atmospheres in order to determine the abundances of light metals, e.g. silicon, phosphorus, and sulphur in the atmospheres of these objects. We compared our results to stellar evolution models and find consistent abundances for silicon and phosphorus, but for sulphur the observed strongly subsolar abundance cannot be explained....
