Experimental monitoring of patch repaired composite structures under curing
Abstract

Structural integrity during fabrication and in service is the greatest concern emerging from the use of composite materials. The presented experimental investigation addresses the capability of sensing during the curing cycle but also aiming post curing at structural integrity of Composite Patch Repair (CPR) on composite structures. The presented series of preliminary experiments have identified initiation and completion of cure. The basic aim of this study was not only to lead to important cost reductions via shortening of the curing cycle but also the feasibility of monitoring online loading on such configurations.
