Three-dimensional heteroepitaxy in self-assembled BaTiO 3- CoFe 2O 4 nanostructures
Abstract
Pulse laser deposition was used to investigate self-assembled BaTiO <sub>3</sub>-CoFe <sub>2</sub>O <sub>4</sub> complex oxide nanostructures. A single ceramic target with the molar ratio of 0.62BaTiO <sub>3</sub>-0.38CoFe <sub>2</sub>O <sub>4</sub> was used. The nanostructures, with CoFe <sub>2</sub>O <sub>4</sub> nanopillars assembled in a BaTiO <sub>3</sub> matrix are epitaxial in-plane and out-of-plane. The results show that the substrate temperature increases from 750 to 950°C and the average diameter of the pillars increased from ∼9 to ∼70 nm.
