A contribution to the study of the fracture energy of polymer concrete and fibre reinforced polymer concrete
Abstract
The effect of specimen notch depth on fracture energy of epoxy polymer concrete and fiber reinforced epoxy polymer concrete was studied under three-point bend tests. Studies were conducted with polymer concrete reinforced with short Glass and carbon fibers. Two different notch depths were considered, with 10 and 20 mm length. Six specimens were loaded under quasi-static conditions in order to obtain the fracture energy of polymer concrete, G(f), as suggested by RILEM recommendations.
